FAQS

To reglaze glasses means replacing the lenses in your existing frames with new prescription lenses. Your frames stay the same, only the lenses are changed, making it a practical and cost-effective way to update your glasses.

The cost to reglaze glasses depends on the type of lenses you choose and any additional features, such as thinner lenses, anti-reflection coatings, blue light filters, or varifocals.

We hold lots of single vision lenses in stock so, depending on your prescription, single vision lenses can be returned to you the same day we receive your frame!

However, for higher prescriptions or more complex lenses, such as varifocals or bifocals, these will take a little longer as they’re made to order. Even so, we aim to return your glasses to you no later than 14 days.

Most glasses can be reglazed, including full-rim, semi-rimless, and rimless frames. However, very old, fragile, or damaged frames may not be suitable. We’ll always assess your frames first and advise you if there is any risk before going ahead.

Absolutely! Our lab technicians have over 35 years of experience in the optical industry, paired with our state of the art glazing machinery we’re hard to beat when it comes to producing high quality glasses!

Every order is assessed before the lenses are cut and on rare occasions our technicians may deem a frame unsuitable. This could be because the frame and prescription aren’t compatible or the frames are too weak to be processed. In this unlikely event we will return your frames to you along with a full refund.

Yes, we regularly reglaze designer and branded frames. As long as the frames are in good condition, they are usually suitable for reglazing.

Reglazing is ideal if your frames are comfortable, suit your face, or are designer frames you’d like to keep. It’s often cheaper than buying new glasses and is also a more sustainable option as it reduces waste.

We offer a wide range of lenses for reglazing, including:

  • Single vision lenses

  • Varifocal and bifocal lenses

  • Thin and ultra-thin lenses

  • Anti-reflection coatings

  • Blue light filtering lenses

  • Photochromic (Transition) lenses
